Navigating Hurt

When I feel hurt by someone, it may be that they are behaving in a hurtful way.

Or it may be that I am reacting to something that isn’t actually there.

Either might be possible.

It’s important to not dismiss or minimize my experience.

It’s also important to not always assume that my conclusions about the other are accurate.

It’s a delicate balance, but one that we can learn to hold when appropriate, with generosity and curiosity for self and other.
