When there’s a part of you screaming, “It’s not OK, it’s not OK!“ offer her crayons or other art materials. Gently put your hand on her shoulder and say, “Can you show me how it’s not OK?“
Sit with her while she draws.
Make sure she knows that you are there with her.
When she’s finished, hold her hand. And just sit there together, letting your body feel what it feels.
