Somatic Personal Practice
Denial is simply part of the package
Each of us is in denial about the depth of our trauma and about the scope and breadth of its impact on our inner and outer lives.
That is not a criticism of me, you or anyone. It’s a simple statement of what is. Denial and minimization are built-in elements of unresolved trauma. We can’t help it.
But we can learn to “swim upstream” to increase our awareness of our bodies and our emotions, to incrementally open to what is hidden.
“I am curious, what am I hiding from myself now?”
Curiosity, humility, self-forgiveness and acceptance are always called for.
