Explore Silence – and Noise
Sit and let yourself come to rest. Feel gravity. Let yourself drop out of your thinking brain. Sit or walk in silence for a full minute, noticing visuals and sounds but without thoughts (as much as possible). Notice what that is like inside your system.
Now switch channels. Spend a minute making noise, with your vocal cords or with your body (clapping, slapping, thumping) or with objects/instruments. Again, do this with minimal thoughts. Notice what that is like.
Which feels most familiar? Which feels most alive? Or is each familiar and alive but in different ways?
Try inserting a minute of silence – or a minute of noise – at strategic moments throughout your day!
